Since 1989, my home-studio has been located near 16th & U Street, NW — just one block south of Meridian Hill / Malcolm X Park and 12 blocks north of The White House.

My graphic design portfolio is located on Adobe’s Bēhance platform.

The collection was conceived during the Covid-19 pandemic and realized thanks to a DIY-punk ideology and print-on-demand (POD) technology. It continually grows as new, customizable products are introduce to the market for the very first time.
Two sets of my designs (the Catskills cafeteria trays and breakfast plates sets) were recently on display as part of the Hill Center Galleries 2024 Regional Juried Exhibition. Appropriately, they were hung just outside the Annie Etheridge Hooks Demonstration Kitchen on the first floor of the historical Civil War era building in Southeast DC.
“Hit me with the home beat” is the name of a one time only, silent art auction of the combined collections of two dedicated DC-music fans and casual art collectors: my late husband, Dave Berman (1961–2018), and me. The reason the collection is being sold vs. donated is because the widow needs the damn money!
Come and help a lady out!
Stand by for details...
My favorite branch is the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, the Central Library, in the Gallery Place/Chinatown neighborhood of Northwest. It’s in an enormous four story, black steel building, originally designed by the legendary German-American architect Mies van der Rohe. In the lower level is the Maker Space and Machinery (The Fabrication Lab) which contains, among other things, two Universal Laser Systems® CO2 laser cutters, and three 3D printers—all available to use for FREE!
Diagonally across the street from the MLK Library is the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), where I’m aiming to, within the next few months, get my two most recent Art-o-mat pieces in the Art-o-mat machine in the SAAM Luce Center. One of my pieces, Moth Jar, was created with the use of the laser cutter in The Fabrication Lab.
I love public transportation and making small talk with strangers. I have social skills, despite constantly feeling strange and outsider-ish in the modern world.
For over 10 years, I’ve maintained a Tumblr blog called “It’s art if I say so,” a quote from my favorite conceptual artist, Marcel Duchamp, as well as my answer to the eternal question “what is art?”
